![]() ![]() Imo, split timelines isn't that complicated to grasp. Though this also solves the problem Wind Waker introduced if you were confused by when the previous games were set. That's the game where they officially confirmed there was a split timeline in the interviews leading up to the game, and the game presents itself as a parallel to Wind Waker and what was happening on the other timeline. At the time if you didn't want to believe split timeline stuff you could have just argued that either Wind Waker was set way after all the other games or that those other games are set on the new Hyrule they find (pre-Spirit Tracks anyway). ![]() It doesn't focus on it and I think a lot of people just didn't think very deeply about it at the time but in retrospect that's "the moment". ![]() The ending of the game had Link being sent back in time to live out his life and we see him visiting Zelda back then but then we also see the future he left behind where the celebrations happened. Technically it all started in Ocarina of Time. ![]()
